see ebay item #2503511477 (springsteen disK). ebay has the listing in british pounds with the us dollar equivalent. I used AS with a max bid of $59.xx and thought we always bid in US dollars (as does ebay). AS sniped in british pounds, since my winning bis is past my max snipe bisd in us dollars.

How was I supposed to bid in british pounds anyway? should the conversion take place internal to ebay and AS? please reply ASAP, since I may refuse to accept the final auction price, plus shipping is about $80. US thanks

Actually that is not the way eBay works. Your bid would be in British Pounds. Look at the bid box on ebay for another auction like that and you'll see a British Pounds symbol where you enter your bid, NOT a US $ sign.

*ALL BIDS* both on eBay and here are in the currency of the auction. Bid accordingly.
All eBay auctions are in the currency listed. There is nothing AS can do about that.

How is it that people who have not taken the time to inform themselves as to the basics of how eBay works--or AS, for that matter--then come in here and whine about it, as if AS should do their thinking for them?

This is, I suppose, symptomatic of our society today, where it is always "someone else's fault."
