I'm assuming for years you've waited until the last few seconds to bid on an item, and you've bid your max. That's sniping. But what happens when your treasured item ends inthe middle of the family reunion? Or how many times have you burned dinner waiting for the clock to run down to put your bid in.

With auction Snipe you place your bid here. Then ignore it--turn your computer off, have a life. When you get back your email will tell you if your bid was high enough. I'm not sure what you mean by 'no commitment" yes you'd better be prepared to complete the auction you win... But if you end up at home when the auction is ending you can cancel your auction snipe and do it manually. I suggest setting Auction Snipe for 10 seconds. Nobody can react to your bid in that time and it give AS and Ebay some lead time for traffic jams and lessens the possibility that A.S. doesn't snipe in time.
Hello Rosemary,
>> actually this is a site where u make no commitment on bidding,,,is this right? <<

I'm not sure whether I do really understand your question.

When you use Auction Sniper, you do not place a bid in eBay directly.
You specify your "max"-amount, the Auction Sniper computers store it in their databases and when the auction comes to its end, they automatically send a bid in your name to eBay (with a "lead time" as you've specified"). So a "last second" bid will be placed for you automatically.

Therefore there's no "commitment" unless Auction Sniper has sent the bid. You may cancel your bid and/or modify your "max" amount any time in the meantime.

Exactly.

>> and bascially keep your max a few dollars more.... and your the winner!!! <<

Right.
The bid sent by Auction Sniper will appear as if you would have sent the bid yourself a few second before the end.
If your bid is higher than the highest bid, eBay's "bidding agent" will treat it the normal way: Your bid will just be the needed step higher than the currently leading bid; and if in the few remaining seconds another "sniper" will place another bid, your bid will automatically be augmented as high as needed (within the limit of your "max").

The main advantage over eBay's "bidding agent" simply is that you/your bid won't appear in the auction until the very last moment.
This way it can pretty well happen that other competitors don't rise their max.
Even more important: No one can see what you want to spend. And therefore the nasty habit of "price-pushing" - one of the worst things with eBay auctions (I've seriously been bitten by that in the past) - will be avoided.

>> ONE MORE FINAL QUESTION CAN i KEEP MY COMPUTER OFF AND WIN THE ITEM WITH THIS SWIPER PROGRAM??????

For sure.
Once you've sent your data to Auction Sniper, their servers take care of you.
Everything works automatically.
So there's no need to get up in the middle of the night to check an auction. And the bid will be placed even if one is out for a skiing weekend Smile

Hope this spreads a bit of light.

Regards
Rainald
