Will AS bid my max bid or just £/€/$1 more than current bid?

I just want to know if AS bids 1, or 10, or whatever the minimum bid increment is, more than the current bid but max the max bid. Or if it bids the max bid immediately?

AS bids the max, but you only pay the amount necessary to win. If current price is $52 and AS bids for $106.36 for you, if there are no other bidders you pay only $53.

But Chatter (I'm surprised you don't already know this), $52 most likely isn't the high bidder's maximum bid.
