I have sniped manually for a time. It's a pain in the arse. This weekend, I began shopping for a sniping service.

I like the AuctionSniper service, from it's appearance, but am interested in some of the competitors (especially ***** *****) due to the much lower pricing.

My primary usage of a sniping service would be to win numerous auctions for under-$5 on the collectibles I am interested in.

Why should I choose AuctionSniper over the competition?

to our forum! You know, we are customers, just like you, not salesmen. But, one of the big differences you'll see is the forum. Got a question, a problem? Someone is always around to help you out! I personally have looked over many sniping services and have not found this to cost more. I like the fact that you pay only for what you use...and, if you recommend it to friends, you get three free. I have gotten many free ones. Smile

First of all,WELCOME to the forum.

Don't really know much about the competition, as I've never used it. I HAVE heard a few thing though. AS has a great support staff.

Example. A while back, eBay made some changes in their display screens. Moving things around like that can effect how a sniper service works. AS was basically down and inop for hours. Reading some of the forums on eBay I got the impression some of the competition was down and inop for DAYS.

You will find AS's forum very friendly and helpful. Sara, who works for AS, monitors the forum and can give advice and/or help. I don't count myself among the very experienced yet, but there are several who will also post and give answers to questions and give truly good advice. Go through some of the topics in support, or questions and answers. Check out how long it takes to get an answer.

You can give AS a try with free snipes if you wish.

Hope that helps some.

AS will place up to 4 different snipes from 4 different locations. This insures that at least one of them will be placed. Those redundant snipes usually don't register on ebay because ebay doesn't allow a bidder to place the same bid twice. Also, AS is close to ebay, so less problems with communications.

If you do a lot of snipes on $5 items, then with AS' minimum fee of $.25, that would amount to a 5% additional cost to you, which could be a negative in your situation.

Something else to consider. If cost is more important then reliability, then you might research getting a sniping program and doing the snipes from your computer. If you have a good connection, and your not bidding on somewhat "important" auctions, that might be something to look into. For me, reliability is the biggest factor.

Hello -- !!

AS has the best user interface, and that means a lot to ~me~ at least. I tried a couple other services and they seemed stupid and annoying in comparison. (especially the emails)

I would not want to run a snipe program on my computer because of the inevitable overhead of time. I think I'm way more profitable paying the quarters and letting the pros worry about keeping up with the details.

Thank you and best wishes,
