Ok.. I'm a newbie. Let's get that out of the way cause I'm sure I'm missing something simple.
I had a snipe set to go up to $8.59.. auction ended tonight, I lost, it was won for .99. Big difference. I'm disapointed to say the least. Why would that happen. The auctionsniper notice just said "didn't win". Yea.. ok.. i see that. But why?

TIA for any help.

Hiya Sheepdog,
Did you click on the confirmation link next to your item? That should give you a little bit of insight into what happened (or didnt)?

From my experience, "did not win" means that AS placed your bid and ebay didnt accept it for some reason...usually because of server lag.

A little bit more information might help, what was your lead time? Did the auction end on the quarter, half or exact hour?

Bummer if this was your first experience with AS, it is actually a very good service, but not infallible. None of them are.

All else fails, submit your details to http://support.auctionsniper.com/ and Support will give you an answer and maybe even a few free snipes to ease the pain Big Grin

Good Luck with everything
Ok...

Umm.. where's the confirmation button Confused
I'm sure that's an incredibly dumb question, but I'm new.. it's ok, right?

I believe my lead time is 8 seconds.
Here is the auction:

It's not exactly my first time, but close. My gf uses it all the time and swears by it. I don't think I'm gonna tell her I screwed upSmile

I'm glad the item wasn't overly important.. but it is very disappointing. I even emailed the seller for a different shipping option since the one listed was well past ridiculous. That's also probably why it went for only .99. The shipping came up as $18.50 for me and he's not even that far! I offered $6.00 via USPS and he accepted. I'm sure that opportunity won't come up againFrown

Let me know what I did.. or if it was AS.
Thanks again

Hiya Again,
If you click on "Ended" Items, then you can either click on the "View Confirmation" button (on the same line as your item title) or click on the "Did Not Win".

I've only had 1 (maybe 2?) Did Not Wins and they are both deleted, so I cant tell you exactly what it says...sorry.

The view confirmation shows you a screenshot of when AS placed your bid and the other should tell you exactly what happened and why you got the DNW news.

I would say, drop a line to AS Support and they will tell you ebay didnt accept your bid until too late...it sucks, but it happens...not often thankfully.

Tell your gf that some dumb bugger paid way too much for the item and you can save face until the next one comes along Wink

Thanks for sharing the Auction link, but it doesnt really help as Did Not Win's usually mean that your bid didnt get placed anyways.
I want to thank all of you guys (and girls) for trying so hard to help me... but my head is starting to hurt.

I did find the confirmation button (had to click the all snipes drop down.. duh), so I click it and it has me log into ebay. I do.. it just goes to my ebay and has no info on that auction or what happened. It keeps telling me that my pw is too easy so I decided maybe it's skipping some page because that page is showing up, so I change my password. Try again.. same thing. I went back into AP, changed it to my new pw.. tried again. It goes right to my ebay. Is it supposed to..lol. Oh well.

Since my bid was never placed I guess it wasn't accepted on time. It'll be one of those mysteries in life... like why the ice cube tray I bought last week had instructions on how to use it...

Well.. I'm glad I know where to go with questions now. I can keep my pride and not need to ask gfSmile

Thank you all again..

Seems like you've got into a bit of a pickle. I suggest sorting out your eBay ID and password then setting up your AS ID and password to match (it must match!) then, at the bottom of your My Snipes page, click on the Verify of Note Click the Verify Link to make sure Auction Sniper has your proper eBay information to place your snipes. to check everything is set up properly.

Back to the original problem - there should be a link on the AS notice you received saying Click here to see eBay's response to your snipe - if that doesn't work or works strangely then it suggests that there was a problem at the time of the snipe - might be worth logging a fault call with AS Support via the Help tab...

Well.. I've made sure my pw is now 'safe'. All of the bars showed up. I am sure AP has the correct pw and confirmed it. I found the confirmation button, and also clicked on the "Click here to see eBay's response to your snipe" and clicked at the bottom of that page that says "To view the confirmation page (which contains more information about =
this snipe), please click here"
Everything takes me to the "interrupted by... " page and advises me to change my pw.

I don't think it likes me.
Thank you Mrs.M

Already had that one set up. But I doubt I'll get it for the low price of the other.

Support said basically that the bid was probably not enough lead time for that day/time. It led me to a 'bid credits' but the item number didn't work. Probably cause I was using a free bid for it anyway.

I haven't given upSmile I'll still use AS when bidding.. though I don't bid much.

I really appreciate all the help and the friendliness of the forum here.

Actually the shipping isn't that much lower. I had emailed the other seller asking if he would use USPS and not UPS as the shipping was coming up so high (don't know if he planned it that way, but it's nice to play dumb anywaySmile ). He said if I purchased insurance (which i usually do anyway $1.30) then I could have it shipped for $6.00 USPS. Since I'd be paying insurance on the other one (if I won) it would only be $1.00 less shipping.

It wasn't that important. I just figured if I could get it at a really good price...
But who knows, I still might.

Thanks again
