Why did I get this message..

I placed a bid - there is no RESERVE on the ebay item- I even emailed the Seller to ask. I am the high bidder now and I get this message on my snipe:
WARNING - Your max bid is below the minimum allowed for this item!

why? and what does it mean?

Do I understand it to say that you bid manually (not through auction sniper) first? You need to snipe greater than the current bid increment (what ebay says the minimum bid is). The fact that you are already the high bidder makes no difference to ebay (and hence auction sniper as well).
