Sara B., I received an AS Snipe Status Report 10/8/02 5:35:23 PM PDT eBay Item#910656785 ~ 1890 CHROMO ENTOMOLOGY Page of 50 Moths -- Did Not Win Your snipe could not be placed because of the reason above (then there is no reason above) it saysClick here to see eBay's response to your snipe and I did and that got me nothing.

Can you tell me what happened? I had a max snipe of $28.01 with a 5 second lead & the start price was $9.99. It shows there were no bids when I checked after the auction was over. I have emailed the seller to see if she by any chance pulled the item near the end with no one bidding. Haven't heard back yet. Just a mystery to me. Thanks, Shellstoop Confused

Cant say for sure, but we had about 20 yesterday out of about 10,000 bids. Either an eBay, internet, or failure on our part to bid in time. Since we didn't get a reply from eBay I'd say it was either internet or us not bidding. But since we did place 10k snipes I dont see why just those few would fail. Unfortunately our backup bidders that snipe from other locations in the country dont report status. So they may have sniped and either been late or also had the same problem but we cant tell. They're just out there sniping as backup. One of the features we want to add to the remote safety bidders is a way for them to report back so we can get status from all snipes.

Sorry about that. You can go here and enter the auction # to get a few free snipes:

Thank you
Hi Sara B. ~ thanks for replying. I did get a reply from the Seller. She said:

That's odd! The auction is still up there, it ended with no bidders. Of course, I would be happy to offer it to you for the bid price of $9.99...
What a great Seller, huh?

I'll do as you suggested and get my free snipe.
