Why are "BIDS" & "CURRENTLY £" not kept up dated??

Answer: Response time.

Specifics: If “My Snipes” page had to check each auction for the current auction info (price and bids), the page would be slower to load. If someone had several auctions, this time might be considerable. AS allows the user to control when that info is refreshed via the [Update Prices] button right above the snipes on the My Snipes page. AS periodically updates that info, but if that info is important, I’d recommend clicking Update Prices.

Another caution, Glen – don’t depend on AS sending you an email if the current auction price is higher than your snipe because there’s also a delay on that. AS *will* send you an email, but sometimes it’s not timely.

Although the schedule that’s listed in that FAQ seems reasonable, from comments on this forum, that appears to be more of a goal than an actuality.

Of course, a fanatic-sniper will say that one should ALWAYS bid their max and not change it, therefore it’s not important if you are notified that your snipe is too low, but those snipers don’t live in the real world.

AND, one more caution – if you haven’t already done this, TURN OFF THE DAMN INSTAMAIL OPTION! (On “My Snipes”, click on “Modify Account”, scroll down to “InstaMail”) – assuming you don’t want the seller notified that you are using a sniping service.
