You sold a item on ebay and the buyer writes you a email saying this

"I find myself in a dilemma. I recently recieved a xxxxx from someone else. I recieved it long after I bid on yours. I don't need your xxx. I was hoping we could work something out. If you would be willing to list it again, I would gladly pay the difference if it doesn't sell for as much as my winning bid."

Thank you

That's up to you... For me it would depend on the $'s involved and how much trouble it was to list. (IF they are being honest)

I recieved it long after I bid on yours.
I find this a VERY strange statement.

When did they bid and when was the auction end? When did they recieve this 'other item'. Why didn't they cancel their bid? (no answer needed, just something for YOU to think about)

Sounds to me like they found another for less money than their win at your auction.

(edit) Mrs.M, GREAT idea, let them list and resell it!!

Yeah, I think I am going with Mrs.M's advice

The buyer is a newbie, registered Jan 04, has 14 pos feedbacks/ 0 neg

He bid on my item Feb 20 ( ended last night ) I can see on his feedback that he did a BIN for same item from another seller on Feb 25, must of paid with paypal as seller left positive feedback already

Not sure why he did not retract his bid, ( maybe he did not know how ) He did pay more from other seller than what my item ended at

I think I will tell him he now owns 2 of them and to paypal me asap

I had this happen to me once - when *I* didn't want the item. What I did was contact the next highest bidder and the seller. I paid the difference between my bid and the next lower one and had the seller ship the item to the other guy (after he paid his bid). Seller got his high bid, eBay got their $$ and a buyer was happy (and I was very relieved).

Mother Mary Says, 'HONESTLY! you're just ruint!'
I wrote him this, we will see what happens

When you bought the other xxx, why didn't you do a bid retraction on my item?? you had pleanty of time, you bid on my item 2/20, you bought other xxx 2/25, and my auction ended 2/26, that gave you more than enough time to cancell your bid

I am sorry you now own 2 xxx, you can relist one of them and sell it if that is what you want to do. Please remember your bid is a contract, and you had pleanty of time to retract it

Please paypal the payment to me or let me know if you need my home address for money order, ( use the paypal link on the auction)

you may want to contact the 2nd place bidder and see if he still wants it, maybe you can sell it to him
