I had AS place a bid on item #8327988496 i won Big Grin problem is this:
1) since posting the orignal item S/H fee of $2.49 seller changed the description to state that it ISN"T RIGHT after I had started watching the item and set my snipe, so I emailed him requesting amount for my S/H from my zip code.

2) he returned my email with "10" just a hour or so prior to the auction end

3) Invoice reads $12

I've now sent him a follow up (without paying him) asking him to clarify which of the 3 is his actual cost as I want to be fair to cover his expenses, but I'm not going to pad his profit. Anyone else deal with this issue? what are my rights here?? Can I hold him to either the 2.49 or the $10 through eBay channels??

I've NEVER dealt with this with a seller before, I may have questioned the overall cost of S/H but never had it change on me like this.

TIA for any and all answers.

He has to stick to 10 as that's the amount stated in the auction (and the cost you sniped at).

Actually the amount quoted in the auction and that I sniped at was 2.49. It was only when I checked on the item the day before it ended that I noticed he had posted that that amount wasn't right, but never listed what was.

That's when I emailed him and requested an amount from my zip code and he quoted me $10.

ARgg...he still hasn't replied to my email asking for clarification either.

Alas, you did see the change made in the auction and you still bid on it, knowing the cryptic change (even if you did not know what the full amount would end up being), so I would say that the $10 charge would be the one to pay.

I never bid on something unless I know exactly what the shipping charge will be. I avoid auctions that say "final shipping fee determined after auction ends."

Ahhh see, the case for placing a small proxy bid!! If you *had* placed a small proxy bid, then the seller would not of been able to change the shipping charges.

But then again, its in ebays rules n regs, that a seller is within their rights to ask for more postage if they find the charges stated werent correct....you couldnt win if you started yesterday it appears.
