For some days now, my family and myself have lost lots of goods owing to AS's clock being minimum of 22 seconds faster than ebays.
AS states the auction is ended almost half a minute before it actully is. Resulting in rather a lot of temper tantrums. Big Grin
Is this clock problem ever going to be fixed? Or was it a waste of money signing up for it? I used my freebies a few weeks ago, and found it to be great but been a real sad let down since paying. It doesn't even appear that anything is being done to rectify the situation, as it has been happening for days now
Anyone any info?

If you are referring to the time remaining next to each snipe ("My Snipes" page), then that is based on your computer’s clock, which region2 (the forum’s gadfly) is bound to comment on in a subsequent post. If you are referring to the time the snipe is placed, then that IS synchronized to ebay’s time. If the snipe is placed prematurely, it’s due to AS miscalculating ebay’s current response time. AS will pad the lead time to compensate for ebay’s current activity, because the theory is that it’s better to snipe too early than too late.
Thanks for your quick response Rick. I've checked my clock, which is bang on with ebay. However, 22 seconds (which is the minimum minimum time early AS is bidding) in my opinion is way too quick.
It's almost impossible to win an item, if there is another bidder. Seems like the whole system is in vain.
What I don't understand is, why did it work so well for weeks now it doesn't?
Think I'll go back to manually bidding, that way I can at least have a shot at winning an item.
Many thanks again
Skylark - the time on your PC, the time shown on the My Snipes page and the time used by AS for placing snipes are totally unrelated!

The cr@p code that AS uses on the My Snipes page will slowly go out of sync with the rest of the world and means nothing.

I suspect that you may have had a snipe placed a bit early but it's all but impossible to react within 20 seconds so any response was probably pre-arranged. If you cannot see the advantages of using AS then ciao and bonne chance!

Yikes Region2. Eek retract your claws, I was only saying!
Obviously your not a lassie that has coveted that perfect bag to match your expensive shoes only for AS to blow it for you or having managed to secure one part of a twin set (seller splitting them to make more pounds) for AS to leave you with the under part, and no top Eek
What am I'm meant to do with half a set? You men just don't get it! Confused

Cheers anyway Big Grin
