What is the box to the left of the item number?

Six snipes, 5 kills! So far so good but what is the box to the left of the item number? It can be checked, I can't find a definition in the screen decriptions.

The check box on the left is used with "move to" and "cancel" buttons that are located above next to the drop down menu "My Snipes". You can use the check box to move snipes to bid groups or folders. You can also use the box to cancel snipes.
