What is "ship price" and the time is wrong.

I've just found out how to change the time so that is fixed, but I don't want to get stuck with a committment to pay $35 for shipping (if that is what this field is saying) when the postage is $10.00. Can anyone help with this one?

AS bids as if it was you and the postage is as shown on the eBay listing so don't fret - I guess AS has messed up when 'scraping' the postage cost from the listing. Ignore the 'Ends' field - it ends when it ends - all you need worry about is the lead time - 8 seconds is fav!

I had cancelled my AS bid because I was worried about getting stuck with the $35 ship fee. I read your note and then reinstated it.

Unfortunately I lost by 50 cents
The buyer (who is also a seller) had a sniping program too, so at least I know the true price of this item (I'll be ready next time).
The seller clearly has a squillion of these things and lists them one at a time. Very clever but how frustrating for me.

Alice, how do you know that the winning bidder used a sniper program?

You do realize, don't you, that the winning bidder only beat you by one increment, and could have have bid significantly more than you did? In other words, it is likely that his bid was much more than fifty cents ahead of yours.

As well as being new to AS I'm also quite new to ebay and also forums, so I might have got this wrong.

When I checked the bids after the auction, I wasn't even listed as a bidder. The last bid listed was $5.50
the winner won it for $11.05
My bid was for $10.55

If the increment was 50 cents I assume that no-one but a sniper would list it with the extra 5 cent addition. And because it showed $11.05 that this was his/her highest bid.

Do you think this is right? Or does AS cause the bids to go up by 50cents from my final bid?

Unless there was a reserve then that makes no sense - what was the auction number?

If you are ca-fry, your bid is listed. If not, your bid was blocked by ebay because you didn’t bid enough. The difference between $11.05 and $10.55 is the ebay increment.

You REALLY should spend time studying ebay’s help – it’s very good (even in the Australian language).
