I'm brand new here, but have been sniping with another sniper for years. I live in Australia, but bid on U.S. items with regularity. Most stay in the U.S. because I travel back and forth. I have a U.S. Paypal account. I made my first free snipe the other day. I didn't win although I bid more than the item sold for. I can find no record of the snipe other than I no longer have 4 free snipes - just three left. What gives?

First of all, you're talking to fellow users here - if you want an answer from Support you'll need to click on the HELP tab and log a support request.

Next, when AS bids, it captures the response by Ebay and sends it to you in an email - have you received that yet? What did it tell you? Was your snipe listed under the bid history for the item?

Have you checked your Won and Lost pages from your My Snipes page - maybe your snipe is on there!?

Was your snipe greater than on increment over the winning bid - it needed to be if you were to get your bid placed.

And why do you have four free snipes - most people are allocated three free snipes at the beginning of their AS sniping career - where did your extra one come from?

Let us know the auction number and your max bid and we might be able to help you further.

BTW, ignore R|ck, he's a pork pie short of a picnic!

I apologize. I thought I had four free bids. I must have confused it with the other of the dozen I'm looking at to replace the sniper I've been using.
I bid on 220211753230, a Kershaw pocket knife. I don't remember just what I bid, probably about $14. I'll be trying again, as the seller does one of these a week. I'll probably bid on another US item today.
My bid yesterday on another item went through - on an item in Australia.
