what happened to my bid????

I just lost 2 auctions because of AuctionSniper. Usually, it works fine for me. The auctions closed at well below my bid. AuctionSniper status says "Did not win", but apparently did not even attempt to place a bid. If I click on "View COnfirmation", it just takes me to my "My eBay" page. I can't find any explanation for why it lost me the auction.

Auction 8339356086 - closed at 26.67. My snipe was for 36.52

Auction 8339355931 - closed at 19.95. My snipe was for 25.52

I am VERY unhappy about losing these auctions because of Auction Sniper. AS has always been reliable for me, but if this happens again, I will have to rethink its value.

We already know. eBay is making a change to their bidding servers. Some are working, some aren't. Thus some snipes are being placed and some aren't. We're in the process of updating our site for their changes.

I will keep the news & updates section of the forum updated in a thread I've created there. Please manually snipe until futher notice.

Please wait a few hours, maybe even tomorrow and you'll be able to claim free snipes at:

I just want to make sure you can claim them while you have the status of "Did not win." I suppose you can try. But if it doesnt work simply wait until tomorrow and our robot that figures out what happened will have gone through all "Did not wins" and converted them to the correct status by then.

I too just found out I lost out. I think if A.S. is aware of a problem perhaps they could do more than post it to News & Updates. Most people are using A.S. so that they don't have to be logged in to eBay or A.S. If you (A.S.) are aware there is a problem, and especially if the work around is to bid manually, can't you do a mass (e)mailing to all those with active snipes that close within a certain window of time and inform them? Many of us would have liked to have know there was a probelm BEFORE we lost the auction, not after. Just a suggestion

Apparently, snipes were inactive for TWO days! I placed my first snipe on 10/3 and changed it on 10/4----neither the 10/3 nor the 10/4 (I can understand that 10/4 snipe not being effective) were effected and I lost an auction which I thought I was prepared for well in advance. No bids in my name were registered on the eBay listing. However, there now is an announcement by AS that the technical issue is resolved.

As of Oct-04-05 14:56:01 PDT the problem was not fixed. I, too, lost out on a very nice buy because of this. It would've been nice if AS would've denied setting up the snipe in the first place rather than everything appearing normal when it was not. I am disappointed and will not be as assured in the future that my snipes will really work. Bummer.
