Can anybody give me a play by play on what happened here:

BIDDER BID AMOUNT DATE OF BID
'br1' $26.00 12:42:14
'me' $25.00 12:42:09
'br1' $15.00 12:01:32

ENDED 12:42:19

This is the third auction I've been outbid and I want to figure out exactly what's gong on.

Tell me if I got this correct or not. 'br1' placed a max bid of $x at 12:01:32 which brought the bid increment up one to $15.00.

Then at 12:42:09, "8 seconds" before close AS placed a bid for me bringing it automatically to $25.00.

Then 'br1's max bid of $26.00 is revealed at 12:42:14, 5 seconds before auction is closed.

Is this a correct interpretation?

And here's my real question, let's say 'br1's max bid was really only $18.00 and AS made my max bid of $25.00 at the last moment. Would the Ebay proxy only count the next bid increment ending the final price at $19.00?

Thanks!

Effectively you were outbid by a new max bid of at least $26 by BR1 at 5 seconds to go.
If they hadn't bid again you would have won at $16 (assuming $1 bid increments).
Top Tip, always bid your max and always add a few pence/cents - in your example you would have won if BR1 had bid $25 but lost if they'd bid $25.01
