What Happened?

Last night ( Sunday Sept. 6 ) I had a snipe fail on an item that was won with a bid of $ 324.75. My max bid was $ 325.The snipe was not placed because the bid amount was too low??? The lead time was 8 sec. The eBay confirmation screen says " Unknown Error " first, then tells me " Bid Too Low " Can anyone explain what might have gone wrong ?

Next ebay bid increment was $5. You needed $329.75 just to get a bid in.

Yes, you are right. If a bid gets that close to your snipe and you have ample time, adjust your snipe upward a little if you really want the item.

I try to add a few cents to the end of my max bid - thus I think of a figure and add 99c to it. It still feels like the original amount but it might just take you higher than the next increment in cases like this. Or maybe not.

Still, like London buses, there will be another one along in a minute...

At one time, I lived in Richmond, IN. They had a beautiful red one from London. It was used for city tours.

BTW, region2, you were right that I did not explain the answer to the question very well. Hope the person comes back and reads the followup. You can blame it on my very old age!
