I lost with a maximum bid of $199 to a bid of $178.50 (item 2880736473) and I see that my bid was never even placed by A.S. The automated AS reply to my lose was 'Ready" with no other comment. Ready for what? A real disappointment. Did I do something wrong, or did AS mess up. This is not a great new experience. Confused

Hi David,
Sorry about your snipe situation...here's Auction Sniper Support Goddess Sara's response...

quote:
There was a problem at our colo facility tonight from about 6:50 until 8pm. Our servers placed the snipes, but they may not have made it to eBay because of the problem in the colo.

The system is currently updating all snipes during those times and they'll likely be listed as 'Unknown' once the computer has reviewed them all. At that point you may receive your free snipes here:

We are working with the colo facility to find out why things were running slowly during that time. We have used their services for over 4 years and they have always proved to be very reliable.

Not much of a consulation prize, but the free snipes will lessen the pain a little I hope.

I havent seen this kind of problem since I have been a member, AS is usually very reliable Smile

The same thing happened to me on 2 auctions in a bid group. Neither bid was placed and I lost the auctions even though I would have been the high bidder in both cases. Here is one of them.

I am a new user and am trying the system out. I don't know if I should bid on the item on ebay before the snipe in order to be on the bid list in case the high bidder decides not to complete the purchase.
smphoto... to the forum.

I think bidding early to get on the bid list is not such a good tactic. It's to rare that the high bidder does not complete the agreement.

AS is usually very good. If you are uneasy, and afraid your bid will not be placed, TEST AS. That's what the first 3 free snipes are for. Try to snipe manually (that means not tooooo early) for about one bid increment below your amount at AS. That way you can see for yourself how AS works for you. Just remember bidding a full minuite before the end of auction, gives many manual snipers a chance to adjust their bids, and this may drive the price up.

Best of luck... and please let us know what happens !
