Hi,

I tried to buy something I didn't even want to buy with AS I didn't win the auction that was okey it was only a expirement using AS to place my bid but what happened was interesting.

When AS counter was still counting down to place my bid. Auction was ended. AS placed my bid and I didn't won. Why did AS counter show 8 seconds left until AS would place my bid when auction was already finish.

Can you explain this for me. What did I do wrong? First bid was 0.1 AS placed bid in last 8 seconds I believe which was 0.99 but the other bidder placed 1 GBP.

P.S. Great people on this forum!

Rick thank you as always for your help.

Here is the time bid was placed:

I placed 0.99 bid.

GBP 1.00 Feb-06-05 13:17:28 PST
GBP 0.99 Feb-06-05 17:34:51 PST

He placed his bid 13:17 but on eBay auction said: 0.1 current bid. 8 seconds left with auction I placed my bid 0.99 but he wins. I really don't care he won this item it was more like experiment as said before but can you explain this in more detail for me thanks.
The countdown on the screen is based on your PC's own clock and serves no other purpose than confusing people who are new to ebay and AS.

The other person had set up a proxy bid at Feb-06-05 13:17:28 PST on the item (again, do look up proxy bidding on ebay's help now) and your snipe was outbid by one increment.
