This is a new one on me.
There were 2 different (but related) gizmos offered by a seller on e bay.
I wanted only one, it did't matter which. SOoo..
I put my Snips in my bid group for that type of gizmos. Well, another bidder out proxied me on the first one and they won fair and square. I won the second one with my 10.00 higher snipe. NOW.
the seller emailed me saying that the first buyer is upset, they wanted both items. And that I should let the first buyer get both of them. EH WHAT?
Needless to say, I sent back that the other buyer won theirs OK and I won mine OK. And, I want mine. That if they had wanted the second one, they could have bid more to start with.

Pretty cheeky if you ask me!

Reminds me of how I learned about sniping ...

I was in a bidding war with one other person for a REALLY nice opal. Suddenly, about a day before the auction end the other bidder stopped bidding against me. I thought I finally had it .. then about 10 seconds before the end of auction - WHAM! I was outbid! I sent the other bidder an email telling her, "Well! That was sneaky! But congrats on winning Wink' She replied with, 'Sniping is perfectly acceptable...'. 'Sniping'? What's that??? Smile Hmmmm....

Too bad she got into the bidding war in the first place - she could have gotten it for at least $100 less if she had only sniped Wink And yes, I would have had buyers remorse if I had been the high bidder (it was nice, but not as nice as my high bid)!

Learned two things with that one ... sniping and to bid *my* max, not someone elses!

Mother Mary Says, 'HONESTLY! you're just ruint!'
