Had a snipe in on a 3 day auction. Asked about shipping, and for the past 2 days have been chatting back and forth with the seller. Auction had no bids, but told him I would probably place a bid, but not till "Later, closer to auction end", in case something else came up. Auction end tomorrow evening. His last note was to check the status of the auction.
Expecting to find several bids and the price out of my range, to my surprise the auction HAD changed... for the better. He has cut the opening price in half, He's added 2 days, and it's now a Dutch auction for 5 of them! Seems this isn't as rare as I had hoped. (Lots of them, but few graded by third party as being this nice)
Think I'll place a low bid to keep him from extending the auction again, keep my snipe in place and check/update 15-20 minutes before end.
What do you think?
p.s. Went to AS to cancel and enter my snipe again, but again I was surprised... AS had picked up on the change in auction end date and adjusted.
