I have used AS twice. Successfully once and unsuccessfully once. On the unseccessful try, my maximum bid was placed 14 seconds before the close. The winning bidder's bid was placed nine seconds before the close. I guess I'm wondering why my lead time wasn't five seconds. Is it possible to tell from this senario whether the winner was also sniping? This brings up a more general question ........... What if two bidders with the same maximun bid and lead time snipe the same item ........who gets it? Confused

I'd say that a bid placed in the last 9 seconds was a snipe, all right. But it wasn't a reaction to your snipe -- there wasn't enough time for that. As for your "identical bids submitted at the same time" question, it all comes down to which one eBay accepts first. If they were both Auction Sniper bids, AS would submit them simultaneously, using separate servers. Smile

PS -- Keep in mind that the last bid isn't necessarily the winning bid. The highest bid gets the prize, subject to the increment rules.
