He's REALLY cute Lexie and I don't say that much, unless of course I'm talking about a duck. He looks like he's ready to take on the world. If you bring him to a restaurant in the states where I'm eating and he plays the The Anvil Chorus on his high chair tray with your keys, we'll meet for sure.

Handsome Son - what is going to be the nickname for Addison? Just curious as I was almost named Addison Clarence for my Grandfather. I ended up with Morris - Clarence so ended up with Mory.

It's Old English - goes way back to early England - it means Son of Adam or Adam's Son
depending on translation. Often the nickname is Adam. I've even heard Addy.
My Grandfathers name was Addison Clarence Stage. A great boys name.

I thought maybe your name was Morton. I have heard it many times shortened to Mory.

Why is it, we name out children one thing and call them something else?

What has Bob got to do with Robert or Bill got to do with William?

Or Dick with Richard?

Can't quite see anyone calling Richard Wagner "Dickie", can you? Not with that face!

The reasons probably originated centuries ago!
Most names ending in 'son' mean 'son of' as does 'Mac' (Scots), O' (Irish) and Welsh names beginning with 'P' like Price (Ap Rice); Pritchard (Ap Richard).

Maybe they'll just call him Addison and not use a nickname. They could come up with their own nickname for him, too.

I go by Christine because I don't like Chris. It's more of a guy's name.

Then Addison would mean Son of Sum.

Addison has several nick names.

I call him Addison mainly, but have been known to call him other things in the middle of the nite.

Tyler and Hubbie call him Bubbie or AJ.

My Mum and Sister call him Addy!

Mory - I am glad there is another Addison out there, I havent seen any before.

I knew the meaning was "Adam's Son", which doesnt have any relevance to us, but Tyler isnt a Tiler either...so go figure.
