WhenI found out that a CD that's been on my want list for a few years was out of print (so THAT's why I never saw it at the store!), I decided to finally become a member of e-bay.

I can't tell you how much research I've done over the past few days! Looking over past auctions of the same item, looking at the different snip services that are available, and then reading through this forum till my head was spinning. But it was not in vain. I have learned alot, I think Wink

There are several of these widgets available, but I found the one that has my name on it. And the auction will end today. I do have one question for you AS'ers tho...

Why would someone place a bid yesterday at 5:30 pm, and then bid again on top of their own bid at 7:30 this morning? There are only 7 bids atm. Upon researching the past auctions, I see bidding never really gets past say a dozen on this item. There are, afterall, several of them available.

Please advise.

PS - I believe I have covered all my bases...
1. password here matches my e-bay password
2. set lead time at the magical 8 second mark
3. set my max at the most I'm willing to pay

Looks like you've done your homework.

Regarding the above question - my best guess is that they placed a low bid to test the competition and now they've put out a stronger bid, or they've gotten nervous and are afraid they might not win, or they've only placed a small bid increase because they hope someone will think they're super interested. And, then there's always the possibility that this buyer isn't behaving logically. If you are asking if this is uncommon, it isn't.

This is just off the top of my head, and if you check back, you'll probably have input from others.
I left that part out of my post. The auction ends at 3:16:36, and although this is not EXACTLY on the quarter hour, it's still quite close!

This disc does mean alot to me, and thanks for the good wishes. Like I said, there are plenty out there, but I desire the American pressed disc, not one pressed in Germany or Russia, and I figure other fans of the music would think the same thing. So many of these foreign pressed versions don't even get one bid! How about that???
Played successfully! That's what the box said!

I guess you could say I had that "rush" complete with slight sweat. I can't tell you how badly I wanted it, and now it's MINE!

I went ahead and made a bid in the last min, and then got disconnected. A rush excellerated even more. Maybe I shouldn't have... I would've won anyway, I guess with AS. But it was worth a couple extra bucks for extra insurance. You never know what's up a fellow bidders sleeve. LOL! I guess my max bid was high enough.

Thanks Auction Sniper!
