How come if an item just comes out----and you place the first bid on it--and also place a bid with the SNIPER-- that if it closes without another bid--You are still charged from SNIPER--You never placed a bid--This has happened many mnay times, and I only place another bid with you to protect myself when I am not here----Thanks

It begs the question, marvintoys, why place the opening bid in the first place? It lets others know that you're interested (they can then view your history and work out your strategies) and could cause the price to go higher than if you didn't bid.

AS is just pretending to be you by bidding for you on your behalf. You wouldn't bid against yourself in the 'manual' world would you?

The reason for the charge is because AS did (try to) place the bid - Ebay doesn't allow you bid against yourself so you see no apparent bid take place even though it did. And that's what you're paying for... Smile

No snipe like the present!
