using AS as a backup?

Do you mean you want to place a manual snipe and have AS (Auction Sniper) fire off an automated one *just in case*?

If yes, you can definately do that, ebay has no problems with the same user placing bids at the same time....in fact....AS will be placing up to 5 snipes for the same amount at the same time. It uses several servers to ensure your bid gets through to ebay on time.

Keep in mind, if you do place a manual snipe, and AS places an automated snipe and you win. AS WILL charge you for that snipe.

Some of the regs here would say that there is no point to placing your manual snipe if you are going to use AS...but I say, whatever pops your toaster

The only time I ever do that is when there is an item I really want a crack at and I'm afraid that the seller might withdraw the item if there is no minimum bid. Then I will bid the minimum on eBay and put my max bid on AS. I know I will have to pay AS if I do win the gizmo, but the peace of mind is worth it.
