Total Newbie Question | Auction Sniper

I'm totally new at this AS, so please help me out, someone.
My question is this:
If I setup my AS bid for $10.00 early in the auction and then have no access to email later. Then someone else bids more than that before the end of the auction (and I don't get my email in time), will AS still send the $10.00 bid at 5 seconds till end or does it know not to?

If the current bid amount is in excess of your AS bid, AS will probably try to bid but will be rejected by eBay as "insufficient bid." The way to look at AS is like it's an extension of yourself. It bids in the same way, at the same point in the auction, in the amount you tell it to bid. EBay doesn't see it as a bid from AS, it sees it (correctly) as a bid you placed yourself. So whatever happens with your bid through AS is what would happen if you personally submitted it.
