Silly question at face value as this forum is ALL about sniping auctions :-)

But my question is a friend has a bid on for a cheap item, a real bargain, and I am wondering if I should snipe the auction and, I hope, win the item?

When I say he is a friend I am using the term friend in a very broad sense :-)

Friend or not, if it were a live auction, would you bid against him? I would if I wanted it !

I say snipe it, then tell him how you did it. (You get free snipes for referals)

I just thought of something - does placing a proxy bid cause your friends (I mean that in the broad sense) not to bid/snipe?

It might be an added benefit to proxy bidding (I know - I'm bad).
