Timing is off today

It’s not all that unusual for AS to place a snipe that early. The topics started on this forum about early snipes usually result from auctions ending on Sundays. AS tries to calculate the current load (response time) on ebay, and sometimes it does a better, or worse, job then at other times. AS feels it’s better to have the snipe go in too early then too late – not everyone agrees with that.

I guess I do agree with that - I was just surprised because I have never experienced it happening before.

In the days when I used to do all my sniping manually, I only ever messed up and bid too late on one occasion. But I did mess up and bid too early earlier this year, resulting in me losing! Still, I was philosophical about it - what will be will be etc...
