I did ask him the following question:

>>I was curious as to what objection you have to snipers in general, and sniping software in particular. What is the difference between someone who snipes manually and someone who does so with software? How would you tellwhich method was used? Thanks.<<

I received this response:

>>Well - since you never bid on postcards, I don't think we need to have that conversation.
You appear to do it manually however.<<

He is wrong on both counts. I have bid on postcards (the item about which this question was asked), though only occasionally and not recently. And we ALL know he is wrong about sniping manually, since I ALWAYS use AS. I am not sure what led him to make that erroneous deduction.

I am still considering what to do here.... Razz
... let's say someone snipes one of his items (however the method). The seller cancels the sale as he states he will do if he "discovers" (that is a stretch here, this person is obviously an ignorant SOB) someone has used "sniping software." He really doesn't know this unless the AuctionSniper (or some other snipe software) notification is set to respond. There is no way to tell, that is already proven.

If push came to shove here, eBay would have to take the side of the buyer in this case. His posting of negative feedback could (and hopefully should) be legitimately be removed, because this is a form of harrassment. The buyer is making an offer in good faith regardless of the method of putting in a bid. His items don't look to me like people are breaking down the doors to get to them either. He won't last.

Ignore him Chatter, he's just a self-righteous, pompous jerk.
