This IS an auction?

Yes, but not in the traditional sense!

Basically, you just bid on an item. If there are fewer bidders than items available, then you will get this battery at the price you bid.

If there are more bidders than batteries then the top bidders get however many items are available.

In this case there were 6 items and 6 bidders so all bidders were satisfied, though the price varied from $25 to $18.95

Pmfji,

So, I am bidding on an item, which I am the currently the high bidder. I gave up on trying to use AS to snipe it and just placed a bid per this thread. There are 2 for sale, and 12 bidders so far. Has this way of listing items essentially eliminated the use of AS (or any other tools) for this auction?

I assume there will be still be the mad rush at the end of the auction to bid up this item.

Thanks in advance,
Auction Sniper has some kind of glitch in it that will not allow you to snipe Dutch Auctions on Ebay. Keep getting the message, "This item is not an auction and can't be sniped." I am a high-volume bidder on Ebay, use AS every day, and know how to use this service for Dutch Auctions (have done so COUNTLESS times in the past). This is an internal problem of some kind with AS, not a "lack of knowledge" problem with the bidder. I have a support request in to AS - hopefully, they will come up with a solution. This has been going on for several days - at least.
Hi Community,

Thanks for everyone's help bringing this issue to our attention. As several other posters have mentioned, we are currently experiencing a technical problem that is causing a "This item is not an auction and can't be sniped" error message to be returned when users attempt to add snipes on dutch auctions.

Our engineering department is aware of this situation and is currently working on a solution. I will post further updates regarding this issue on this thread as additional information becomes available.

-Mike
