I just turned on my computer and logged in to My Snipes and found this message:
"You can only use this feature once every 5 minutes. This feature will not be active again until 1/27/2004 6:51:08 PM"
What does this mean????

Update prices. You can only use the update prices button every 5 min. This is new to me too! Seems AS does not want to get bogged down by retrieving price data every few seconds.
It's only good for one auction at a time, but check out >> This Site << for price updates. Works pretty good!

Looks like an A-S brain cramp. I hadn't touched my computer in over an hour and received the same message.
Wait a min.... Now it's gone! I swear, I saw it too! It came up after I hit the Update prices button the second time.

...but the price showing for the auction on AS is wrong. Which is why I hit the "Update Price" button in the first place -- AS is showing the current price as 15.99, but eBay shows it as 16.49, and has since early this a.m.

We're working on that. We're speeding up the price updating feature. It's so fast now the page displays again to you before we're done updating the prices.
Should be fixed Wednesday sometime, if they didnt fix it last night. You might only notice if if you have more than 2-3 times in your snipe list.
tell support, thy'll tell you its a problem on your end their terminal works fine. sounds like the utility companies nothin is their fault
Actually, bigkid, if you'll read the post immediately before yours, you'll see that Support (Sniper Sara) already responded with a very helpful answer. And the problem I experienced has now been fixed. I'm sorry if you're not happy with some experience you've had in the past but I haven't had any problems like what you've described. This isn't your utility company -- AS knows they have competition, and they do their best to keep their customers happy.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who got that message. Strangely enough, I haven't seen it since, either.
And now, an editorial: I've been reading some threads, including this one, and there seem to be some very angry &/or frustrated people out there. I'm new here, but I've been really happy with AS services in spite of the slowdowns and the error messages and the incorrect prices and all the other crazy stuff that goes on. This is the internet, after all. What else can you expect from computers? The Blue Screen of Death and I are very well acquainted.
You don't trust AS? Snipe manually. Nobody's holding a gun to your head.
And, "thanks" to puppy raiser for the web link and to all the "expert snipers" who spend so much time helping the rest of us out.

Sounds like perhaps a manual sniper at one time. Sure can be the pits placing manual snipes. Heck, even if AS didn't place 10% (which isn't the case) of my snipes, I'd still use it. ANYTHING! ANYTHING! and ANYTHING! (caps mean I'm shouting) ANYTHING, but placing manual snipes (except when I happen to be around, and perhaps as backup).
