The < and > characters are not permitted

I'm unable to login because my ebay password contains a less than or greater than symbol. I never had problems using it on this site in the past. I'm glad you're doing input validation now, but prohibiting special characters in the password field isn't the best idea for those of use that generate random passwords for every account. At the very least, help me get this working.

If I click the link for lost password, you email me my password with the less than or greater than symbol with no way to reset it.

Hi debat,

Thanks for helping to bring this issue to our attention. We are aware that our system is currently preventing users from logging in using passwords that contain the "<" and ">" symbols and our we hope to have a solution for the issue in place as part of our next site update, although I am not certain when that will take place at the moment.

For the time being, I recommend contacting our customer support team about this by mousing over the "Help" tab on our site and selecting the "Contact Support" option and we will look into what we can do to help you get logged in.

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused.
