I used to refuse to use ebay. I didn't see the point in bidding wars and my own bids would only push the price up.

My friend put me on to AS and I was sceptical but I thought I would try it.

Now I have only been outbid once. Hiding my interest has probably kept the price down. The chances of winning what I am after have improved 100x.

Not to mention I live on the other side of the world to most things I am bidding on, so it makes it hard to be at my computer when the auction is coming to an end.
