Can someone tell me what the symbols mean in the line showing the name of the poster and the date and time.

When I point my mouse over these, they show just some url references. I mean the card, quotations symbols and exclamation sign Confused

PS. How do I edit a posting? I read that you can do that within 30 minutes but where/how do you start? Since I don't see any preview button, I am afraid I may have to use this function quite frequently Red Face

If you want to edit after the post..within 29 min. click on the one with the pencil. The man and card is to see the poster's info, the triangle is to report something to AS such as someone saying something not allowed. The " " is just that. The far left is the message icon you choose.

book,

= "Click here to see the profile for (poster)".

= "Reply with quotes". Allows you to respond to a specific issue in the poster's text.

= "Edit or delete message". This will only appear on your messages. You do have 30 minutes to do this. After 10 minutes a message will be added with a timestamp showing that you changed the message.

= "Report this post". If you think Sara should take some kind of action.

P.S. I'm going to update this message in 10 minutes so you can see the text added after 10 minutes.

And congrats on your 1st picture. Wink

The following is the text that gets added if you change your message between 10 and 30 (give or take) minutes:

Thanks everybody - I am sure the quote and edit fuctions will come in handy.

Lexie, thanks for fixing up my first picture posting - when it didn't work I figured out that this forum is not using HTML but did not know how to change it afterwards. That's where the edit function will help me in future. I did not know about the picture in signature method as suggested by you. Thanks for that tip - I have set it up now and this will be my test post. Holding my breath... Eek

I haven't tried this, so Lexie or Mrs. M may have to correct me.

In your signiture you need to add the UBBCode symbol before and after your link. So, I think it needs "" (but without the quotes).

Again, I may be wrong.

Rick,
I think I was a bit too eager. At some stage I was responding so quickly that my response and your postings kind of crossed. So after replying I already saw my failed postings initially, then strangely a few minutes later when I checked back on your comments, I suddenly only saw your postings but my previous ones had gone. I thought maybe someone thought I had made too much of a fool of myself and removed them Big Grin Big Grin. Might have something to do with the cache? Confused or how the forum site is refreshed.

Anyway, all is well that end well Wink
