Last night was eBays busiest day ever.

As such the peaks were worse than usual. About 1-2% missed during the peaks. That's 1 in 100 to about 1 in 50. Normal is about 1 in 1000, and often even less, as little as 1 in 50,000 sometimes. It looks like 6pm was the worst hour of the day so it'd be a little higher than above since that was sorta an average of the peak hours.

In any case, yes, certainly a peak time on eBay's busiest day ever got ya. We're going to see what additional things we might do this week to provide even more backup to our snipes than the 4 we're placing now. A programmer has to check the logs and see what eBay responded with in the cases where the bids weren't in time and when that happened and everything else and we can adjust things a little for those special cases right now and we'll see what effect that has.
