Still confused!

Hi. I have been using AS for a while now, have been very happy with my results. Now I have been a bit of an idiot and went and put a bid on an item I want, forgetting the golden rule of only sniping! So I now have the highest bid which MAY be enough, but to be safe I was going to also do a snipe, with another £50.00 on top of my high bid. What will happen if A) my original bid is good enough to have won anyway? or B) if my original bid is beaten, will my snipe still work if my new hidden 'AS bid' is the highest? I have read the Q&A but am still non the wiser! Advice would be welcome.

Quite simply, AS will bid your max as if it was you bidding. If you're the high bidder then nothing will change. If you're not then AS will bid your max and you'll win if it beats the other bidders' maximums (subject to increments etc). If it loses then... you lose...

Remember that AS will charge you if you win even if its bid was unnecessary due to your manual bid...
