I was sniping an item which the seller closed early, yet the entry on My snipes says Ready - I pressed on Update Prices but it is still listed there...

It should say Ended Early but it doesn't. Instead it says Ready.

I reported it to support but Vince came back with some complete twaddle about snipes 'firing' and servers 'backed up'. I am eagerly awaiting his response once he reads the case properly...

I've been lurking here for a while so please keep the welcomes, playful ducks and puppies to yourselves, if I wanted that sort of thing I'd go to the TeleTubbies website.

Oxford, I'm sure you were not serious about being welcomed, so to the forum I think you may have a sense of humor problem, but fear not I found something that may help I hope your system doesn't crash from the shock when you install it. Oh ya did I you. You know Ox, being friendly and taking the time to give a person a nice would be appreciated by most. Oh ya . Just want to make sure you feel wanted. I know you said "please keep the welcomes, playful ducks and puppies to yourselves" but they wanted to say too. aren’t
they cute!
Oh ya, one last thing
We fire snipes on all auctions entered, reguardless of anything.

If we think your bid is too low we still fire a snipe, if we think an auction has ended we still fire a snipe, etc, etc. We snipe any snipe in your my snipes list, always, 100% of the time.

Once the auction ends the status will change to "Ended Early."

We do this for many reasons, the biggest of which is to ensure changes on eBay do not make our system incorrectly think items have ended, or a bid is too low when it isn't. Since we parse text from eBay changes to their site could result in us grabbing info from the wrong location and thus using the wrong data to make decisions on how to snipe or what status your item is.
