I have some doubts concerning the proceeding used by you when two bidders are using Auction Sniper, in the following situations:

SITUATION # 1:

The current price is US$ 50.00, it´s about 1 minute to the end of the auction and bidding increments are US$ 1.00

Bidder # 1 has set a maximum bid of US$ 100.00, for 10 seconds before the end.

Bidder # 2 has set a maximum bid of US$ 200.00, for 5 seconds before the end.

What happens? Does Auction Sniper place a bid of US$ 51.00 for bidder # 1 and US$ 52.00 for bidder # 2?
In this case, bidder # 1 will not understand why he/she lost the auction, as his/her maximum bid was US$ 100.00 and the winning bid was US$ 52.00
Or does Auction Sniper place a bid of US$ 100.00 for bidder # 1 and US$ 101.00 (or US$ 200.00?) for bidder # 2 ?

SITUATION # 2:

The current price is US$ 50.00, it´s about 1 minute to the end of the auction and bidding increments are US$ 1.00

Bidder # 1 has set a maximum bid of US$ 200.00, for 10 seconds before the end.

Bidder # 2 has set a maximum bid of US$ 100.00, for 5 seconds before the end.

What happens? Does Auction Sniper place a bid of US$ 51.00 for bidder # 1 and US$ 52.00 for bidder # 2, so bidder # 2 will win the auction, even though his maximum bid was lower than that of bidder # 1?
In this case, bidder # 1 will not understand why he/she lost the auction, as his/her maximum bid was US$ 200.00 and the winning bid was US$ 52.00, so he/she lost the auction just because he/she chose 10 seconds lead time instead of 5 seconds…
Or does Auction Sniper place a bid of US$ 200.00 (or US$ 101.00?) for bidder # 1 and does not place any bids for bidder # 2?

By the way, I have another doubt: if I press the “Modify” button at the “My Snipes” page, a dialog box called “Editing Snipes” is opened, where I can see three blank spaces: maximum bid, quantity and lead. What does “quantity” mean? Is it the quantity of items or the quantity of bids I am willing to place? If it is the quantity of bids, and I choose quantity=1, can other bidders outbid me even if my maximum bid is higher?

And my last doubt: Can I be logged in at eBay with my username, watching the last minutes of an item’s auction while Auction Sniper places a bid for me, or AS will not be able to place a bid on my behalf, since Ebay could not accept two loggings from the same user?

Please explain those issues to me as soon as you can, as I intend to start using Auction Sniper very often from now on.

Thanks in advance.

AS places the full amount of your bid, the same as if you were bidding manually on eBay. It is eBay, not AS, who determines the amount needed to win, based on one increment over the second bidder. In this example, bidder two wins for $102.50, because when you reach $100, the bid increments change to $2.50 and one increment above the second place bid is $102.50

The same rule applies here, but this time is is bidder one who wins for $102.50

I believe that feature is for Dutch auctions, where more than one item may be purchased. Most of the time it is just one.

It is does not matter. You may be logged into eBay elsewhere, or not. AS will work either way.

Lexie and Jabber,

The Code icon allows you to post UBBCodes and not have them executed. The best example was when we were trying to explain how to enter a picture in the signature box. You can't use the Image icon there. It's a problem to leave the actual UBBCode in a post and not have the posting software try to execute it. So, we would post something like this: "[*IMG]http://f.azure.bbboy.net/australianparents/tongue1.gif[/IMG]", and tell the person to drop the "*". Adding the "*" prevented the UBBCode from disappearing from the post so that the other person could see it. It was difficult to give an example of how to leave a picture without the posting software trying to turn the example into a picture. With the Code icon you can do the following:

This is an example of what you need to enter into your signature box to leave a picture:

Not something that will get used very often, but it was the last UBBCode that I didn't understand the purpose of.
