This is the third time in one week I have all of my pending snipes deleted by your system.
It's not our system, it's Auction Sniper's website that may be at fault - this is a forum which, although set up and managed by AS, is mostly populated by AS users who occasionally answer questions.

Although it's good to air this problem here in case someone has a quick response, it really does sound like a job for the AS Support team via http://support.auctionsniper.com/

Please do let the forum know the outcome...

It sounds like these were in bid groups. If you already had a win in that bid group---no matter when---it will automatically cancel the rest. That‘s what they‘re designed to do. You‘ll either need to create a new bid group, or up the amount you want your bid group to win by clicking on Folders | Manage (above your first Ready snipe, to the right), highlighting the number, increasing it, then clicking on update.

p.s. This is also covered in our FAQ: http://www.auctionsniper.com/faqbid.aspx#bid5

I have used Auction Sniper since 2003. I know how the system works.

I had NO WINS in any bid group. The bids were simply deleted by your system without cause.

Also, your statement:
"If you already had a win in that bid group---no matter when---it will automatically cancel the rest."

Is NOT correct.

Bid groups can be set to purchase more then one item.

So back to my original question. Why are my bids Being deleted? I cannot use your system.
The AS support person seems to think that you entered the items in a bid group and that, once your target number of succesful wins were achieved, the rest were correctly deleted by the system.

Are you saying that they weren't in a bid group?

I suggest you carefully set up a non-bid group snipe and check to see if you can use the system without it being deleted.

No-one else is experiencing this problem AND it would happen if a bid group was used by mistake so it might be worth your while to check it out (buy something cheap and useless if necessary) then let us know the outcome!

I fail to understand what is so hard to understand in my prior posts. I said:

I had NO WINS in any bid group.

Therefore, the bids were supposed to be open.

BTW, this is the AS support forum not "our" forum. Every other board or tech support system I use answers support questions on their forum. Including direct responses by coders.
I see that you have an open support case and are working with Michael our Senior Technical Support Technician for AuctionSniper. There is no need to publish your support case here, unless you are looking for assistance from other users (which it appears they are trying to provide).

These forums are a place for customers to help each other, discuss the site, give us praise, complain about us and in general speak to a community who will listen and respond. You can also find AuctionSniper Management and Engineering here to assist (hence me being here).

Regarding your support case, you are doing the right thing by working with Michael, and I am sure he will resolve your issue. In fact, he posted a reply to your support case yesterday (3/28) at 2:15pm which you have yet to respond to... but you posted here at 9:30pm on 3/28.

Thia also happened to me for a period last year. I do not seem to be the only person that had this problem recently
That's because you are not the only person that doesn't know how our site works. This is always a user error. Snipes do not just disappear. I have looked into hundreds of cases and hundreds of times it's been user error. I can't remember a time it wasn't in fact.

Perhaps this is a weakness in the design of our site that users can't figure out how to see their snipes. It seems relatively simple to me. We have 2 options for viewing snipes. "Choose snipes" and "Choose folder"

Snipes dont disappear. If you choose the correct choices with those two things you will see your snipes. In fact choosing "All" and "All Snipes" will show you ever snipe you have.

Anyways go use another crappy site. Look them up on alexa.com by entering sitename.com in the alexa search box. Then enter us. Then think about why we're 3x-50x bigger than anyone else. What is the most important thing in sniping? Getting your snipe placed, and we are the best. Hands down. If you don't mind putting that fact at risk by using some mom and pop second rate slapped together snipe site that may or may not get your snipe in then by all means go ahead. And keep in mind we're a real company, we take many many steps for security. Two of our largest competitors have been hacked and had their customers info stolen, eBay userid, password, email address, and so forth. Good luck, I hope your data is safe. Cross your fingers on getting your snipe placed and not having your password and personal information stolen.

WOW. Sensitive. Actually some other sites work quite well but AS is the easiest.
You have a lot of nerve condescending to me. I have been here for years under a variety on business names and have placed 1000's of snipes. I KNOW HOW TO CHECK "MY SNIPES". I do it all the damn time, often several times a day. I know how to add, modify, delete, and anything else your site can do. I also know when I sit here for several hours placing snipes and go in a day later and they are all gone, that something has screwed up.

I am glad you are so infallible, call the new Pope, he could probably use someone that cannnot make an error. Do you do doctrinal work also or just software? And for everyones' sake, call the CIA and Defense Department, they can always use a totally infallible system that never has a glitch, never makes an error and never drops data. Call Bill Gates, you have designed the ultimate software. It cannot fail and any error must always be the subscriber's fault, never ever a failure on your part. Perhaps it is your ability to investigate that is weak. If you start out with the paradigm that you and your product is totally infallible, 100% of the time, you are obviously always going to find that the person that pays to use the service made an error. Anyway, I just had a snipe end and I need to go see if I won, that is, if someone as stupid as me can figure out hoe to navigate over to "my ebay" and find the "items won" page. Maybe, even with my long history of user errors, I can figure it out.
Hello letitflyantiques,

I see you have a large number of lost snipes due to bidding to low, which means you are savvy eBayer, looking for great deals (which I can appreciate). I also see a decent amount of pending snipes in your account.. good luck on those. If you want to use another service, that is cool we can't force you to stay.. but I am quite certain that our services from top to bottom (our bidders, our interface, our support, our management staff, our features and our community) are the best in the business. That is why we are #1.

From now on... file a support case on our support system (go to help -> file a support case) from now on when you have a problem. I will keep a personal eye on your account over the next few days.. and look for anything strange.

Good luck, and happy sniping.

Thanks,
Bill
