Which was your max bid that you registered with AS (382.68 or 412.68)? Sounds like it was $412.68? Link to the auction's bid history would be most helpful.

This looks like an issue with ebay's proxy bidding, but I'm not certain.

My max was 382.68. I have no idea where the 412.68 came from or how somebody was able to bid 40 seconds after me even though I set my snipe at 7 seconds.

How many seconds before the end of the auction was your snipe actually placed?

As far as the bid amount issue, you’ll have to take that up with AS. You can file a support request here: http://support.auctionsniper.com/
This has come up a couple of times, but, and I know you don’t want to hear this, they have turned out to be user errors. But, do file a support request – nothing in life is perfect and AS may have made a mistake.

If you are reluctant to post a link to the auction, then posting the bid history (with ID’s blanked out) might help someone give you some answers.

Hmmm - no-one bid after you - your bid went in 8 seconds before close.

Please read up on ebay's proxy bidding system to help you understand how that works (and how you were outbid in this Auction).

"I'm not sure I want to use snipes again if it works like that" - it doesn't, I suspect that this was a mixture of finger-trouble and inexperience. I cannot see how it would be possible for AS to increase your snipe (it's not in their interest to do so) - I think you may have just put in a higher snipe than you thought.

Region, I agree with you. AS can't send to eBay what is not placed with them!
