snipe placed on fake auction... Do I get refunded by auction sniper ?

I recently won an ipod using Auction Sniper.
However, it soon turned out that the seller was a swindler... Newbie with 0 feedback, wrong informations and phone number ... He was living not far from my home so I paid him a visit to find someone totally unaware of what I was talking about, and the number given for the wire transfer was not his ...
So a swindler stole his address to create fake auctions just to steal money from people. Or maybe the guy I had in front of ma WAS the thief himself, but anyway the sure thing is that the auction was something FAKE.

Question is: do I get refunded by Auction Sniper when something like that happen ?

I have no doubt ebay will soon terminate the account of this seller to confirm and prove what I am writing.
