Snipe not placed for strange reason... any advice appreciated

From servers going down to snipes not being placed, well, it has been a tough day... Relative to the snipe not being placed, the email message from Auction Sniper stated that the bid was not placed (status was READY) because:

Confirmation for this item is not available

If anyone knows what this means, your input would be appreciated.

Is this something that can be overcome by a more sophisticated bidding process (I am just bidding once with 5 seconds to go)?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice.

That item ended at exactly 7:15:00 pm.

We recommend 30 second lead times between 5:30 and 8:30 for any snipe ending exactly on a quarter hour, half hour, or hour.

The reasons why are listed here in about a zillion threads.

eBay really sucked badly tonight on any items ending on the quarter hour, much worse than usual. I'm expecting even worse for Sunday evening.
