Snipe Not Placed and Wrong Balance

Hello, last night I was notified that I only had 4 cents and needed to add the $5 to continue sniping. I placed a snipe last night, only to learn this morning that I did not win. My bid was not placed but the reason for not winning was just "did not win." When I went in to check on my balance it listed it as being $4.29. What I would like to know is why wasn't the bid placed and what happened to the 75 cents that was there last night. Many thanks! Valerie
