snipe disappeared, not entered!

On 3/22 or 3/23-I'm afraid I can't remember which-I entered a snipe on item # 250096552784. I checked to see that the snipe was recorded in my snipes & it was. (The item sold for $14.99 & my snipe was $23 or so, so it seems I would've won the item.) Today I discovered that the snipe no longer showed in my snipes, & I didn't receive any sort of email notifying me of a lost snipe. What could've happened? The auction was only for a nightgown, so I'll survive not winning it :-) but I would've liked it.
