Snipe didn't go through

the same thing happened to me:

Status Summary: Ready
Your snipe could not be placed because of the reason above

Strange reason, isn't it?

I don't get it.

I got a notification saying snipe was READY a couple hours after the auction ended and the snipe was obviously of no further use. Lame.

Same here. I had a snipe set
at $15+ and the winning bid
ended up at $8.04. Other one
did go through thankfully!

So I clicked and it took my to "my snipes"
page. Nothing there!

I've just had two snipes that didn't go off. They're still showing as "ready" on my snipe list even though the auctions are done. Is the system down?????

Well.

It is now 6:51 PST.

My snipe set for 6:40 this even went through.
My snipe set for 6:30 pm is still set. Did NOT
go through.

I wonder if it will be set forever.......


Bummer. My first bad experience with AS. Something up with their servers?

That makes 3 for tonight, two of which I definitely would have won, third one can't tell since the existing last bid didn't hit the reserve.

I've sniped 98% favorably and
I'm quite content with AS.
Is ok. The systen can only be
fine tuned if issues are adressed
openly and remedied.

I just lost the 2nd item in as many weeks because my snipe was not placed. Neither item was bid on at all--

Hello all! I have been looking around and apperantly a few of the other sniper websites have messages about an eBay problem. Has AS released anything...am I missing something?

We all get those same messages from time to time and it's been my experience that it's an eBay glitch. Just go to AS.com-freeSnipes.aspx and put in your item number for your FREE snipes. You get 2 free ones if your snipe is 5 seconds or longer lead time. It's a bummer when your bids don't get placed, but it does happen. I know the Free Snipes aren't a replacement for the item you wanted (believe me, it's happened several times lately to me and most often on Sunday evening) but at least it's something. AS makes no money when you don't get your bids placed and win, and then they give us Free Snipes as compensation so they lose that way too!

Could a support person please explain what this means and let us know if we placed our snipes in some way incorrectly to cause this?

I SEE I'M NOT ALONE. JUST WHEN I BEGAN TO TO TRUST AS. I NOW KNOW IF YOU REALLY WANT SOMETHING DO NOT TRUST AS WITH THE BID. TO BAD, IT IS A GOODTHING.

The same thing just happened to me! I am so ticked!!

I got the same stupid e-mail, but there is no reason given.

When is someone from AS going to reply??

Nope. Becuase it's been answered here hundreds of times already. Search out past threads.

Your snipe today was missed because eBay was down. So go yell at them.

99% of missed snipes are eBay problems. Always have been, probably always will be.

Even though we only account for at most 1 in 100 losses we still give a free snipe to anyone that doesnt have their snipe placed, even though it's just about always eBays fault.

I just lost 7 snipes with the response
"did not win" on eBay, via Auction sniper.

All my bids were higher than the winning bids.

One of my bids had no competition, there were no other bids, but I still got "did not win".
(The starting bid was $13.99 and my snip was set at $19.49.

Is Auction Sniper dead now?

Sigh. We just went over this yesterday. Don't you newbies ever search the forum archives for a topic before laying the blame on AS?

...are all the "Super Snipers" always this obnoxious?

Hint: search this forum for "failed", "lost", "mad", "did and not and win", "missed", "this and sucks", "unacceptable".

This is frustrating. The first time this happended I was told there probably wasn't enough time to place the snipe sucessfully. I increased the time to 7 seconds and it happened again. Ironically it was a similar item from another seller. It sold for less than $100 and I bid $300!

I'VE HAD 6(SIX) SNIPES NOT GO THROUGH AND IT'S NOT AN EBAY BLIP--THEY SPAN SEVERAL DAYS AND I HAD SNIPE SET AT 5 Secs AND THEN INCREASED TO 10 SECONDS WITH NO LUCK AND THEN ....

When trying to get snipe credit, I got the following msg...
"This item # is either not in our database or has already been credited."
Yet I did not recieve credit and I did bid on these items that didn't "fire".
