Snipe almost an HOUR early!

I am having the same issue tonight! What gives???! My snipes went off MORE than one hour early!!! SOMEBODY HELP!!!!

LMAO!!! I just looked at my title "Sniper in training" Thats a laugh! I've sniped a few hundred...When does my training period end?

I am VERY upset!!! my snipe was set for 4 seconds as I have in the past used just fine...my bid was sent in ONE HOUR too early!!! Now I have just upped my OWN bid for sure!!! WHAT is WRONG????

Same here. Just ruint two auctions. One of the them I didn't really care about, but the one that is still good I hope I can win it.

It just bid on my auction with an hour left! This is the first time I've used the service, and I'm no longer sure I will use it again...

I had a delay of 5 seconds.

post a lot more to the forum - you're in training as you only joined the forum recently and have only made 2 posts, no matter how many auctions you have sniped

ugh, the system seemed to work fine for the few days I was waiting.. this sucks. Hopefully I can still pull a win.

It seems to be back on track now...At least for the moment.

For any snipes that have already been placed, I would suggest placing them again. I tired it and by entering my max bid again, two that had been placed earlier have been successful. Good luck!

I added mine again, and it said Successfully Placed. It shouldn't have done so for another hour~.

This is absolute nonsense. Two important auctions have been blown away an hour early, and the third has been inflated by more than $300 because the premature bid. Do these people respond like eBay or Paypal, or can we really expect a fix?

I just lost my lead in the auction. Looks like I'm not getting it after all. Only a week wasted.

I did win the auction I wanted, no thanks to Auction Sniper.

I wonder if I will get a credit back for that snipe? Is it considered a snipe an hour early? I think not.

<<< AS user for over 2 yrs. Last couple of months AS has had major problems. It’s becoming more a joke and hassle than its worth. I think they need to hire new programmers. I placed a snipe today, Mon. Nov. 22 with a 10sec lead. and AS placed the snipe 1 1/2 hrs early. This is totally unacceptable. I recently lost 5 auctions to the mysterious “Did not win” with 5 sec lead times (AS suggested lead time when I signed up), I normally used 3 sec (for the past 2 yrs), but started loosing auctions due to AS inability to place the bid in time , now I see they have reposted suggested lead times out to 7sec. I remember when AS first started the search option, it worked great. Had it set to email me results every 2hrs., which it did and never repeated the same items found in previous searches. Now (for the last year) I receive the same search results until the auctions are over. But I could live with that hassle, but these new problems cropping up, where AS is just down right dropping the ball and loosing people auctions, then pointing fingers and blameing someone else, they better do some serious soul searching or they are going to loose allot of customers including this one… . I needed AS when I only had dial up internet access, but with high speed cable modems…. unless they square things out…..Later, who needs it.

Mine went off an hour early as well....Very dissapointing when it does not meet the 1/4 1/2 or on the hour peak time warnings.

I check AS Forum for any scheduled maintanence - no messages.

I checked E-Bay system status - no issues.

I guess we wait and see what the explanation is.

Meanwhile I re-sniped (here's hoping they credit me for one of them!!) and I won it. Barely.....

Me too. This is my first time using AS and this happens! I'm not happy.

Bye the way....... I see allot of snipers wondering about credits for snipes they didn't win, your not charged to snipe unless you WIN..if you are being charged, then yep there is another AS problem.

Thank you auction sniper, I just lost the auction. I can definately say that I will never come back to this site, and will refer people AWAY from it. This includeds sites and forums with more than 50, 000 members. Not only did it place my bid early, but when I set it up again, it seemed to work as promised. I wateched it count down and place my bid. It said I was too low. I went to the ebay description page to find that the auction didn't actually end for another minute. That, in my mind, is completely unacceptable.

It appears the AS clock is off. I looked at the auction on my page and the clock is counting -2mins, like it thinks the auction is over when in reality there is 51 minutes left.

Lets all watch the boards and see how long it takes AS to recognize the problem, blame ebay or their best excuse...naturally US the users.

This has been fixed. Our servers connect to time servers elsewhere to update themselves every 2 minutes. One of the servers we get the time from was off. These are usually places like miliary sites, labratories, and colleges. We're checking out which site was wrong and are removing them from the list of time servers. This is not something that happens often or to this degree. In the past it's happened maybe twice in 3 years and was only off by a few minutes and we removed that site as well.

I appologize for the inconvience. If you feel it affected your snipe file a support case on the Help tab and we'll credit you a couple free snipes.

It only took AS support almost 2 hrs to post, then thats just from the first posting, who knows how long the problem actully existed...do I sound disgusted, yep...

Because my bid was already placed, am I to assume my snipe has been placed? Do I need to watch this auction? Will another snipe be placed? Auction ends in 22 minutes.

jenny...yes your snipe bid has GONE, I doubt AS has anyway to correct all previous snipes on auctions that haven't ended yet, if you want the item watch and bid yourself....I did

This was very unnerving. I freaked when I saw that my bid went in an hour early. I placed a second snipe just to try and cover myself. Thankfully I won the auction in the end but I sat on the edge of the seat wondering what I did wrong.

Iamrealyangry: another bidder bid $255. Your max was $292. I fail to see how that translates into $100. It seems to be more like $37 to me.

In fact the one fellow then rebid against that fellow for $287. Which might have happened reguardless of when your bid went in. So really I'd say it cost you at most $37 and quite possibly $0 since eBays bid increment is $5 in that range. Since the bidder that bid $255 did so with enough time left for the other guy to place a few manual bids it likely woulda would have ended up with his $287 bid anyways.

Same problem here.
In my status there was "Snipe placed".
But the auction ended on 129 € and my max bid was 160€. So I realy don't understand why I did not win the auction. Also, I can't find my name in the list of bidders.
I can find those items again, but can I find confidence in AS if their are more problems then winning bids

Sounds like a different problem. Instead of getting placed an hour early, your snipe didn’t go in. Auction # and lead-time might help, but it sounds more like you need to file a support case: http://support.auctionsniper.com/

I just want to empathize with all these SAD CASES that have been subjected - as I - to the very inefficient workings of the supposedly hi-tech system of "AUTOMATED SNIPING". What a joke! These stories are ludicrous. How can you advertise yourselves as using such hi-tech equipment etc. etc., and have these things happen so frequently. I just reported my first time with AS, and when I saw the bid go in 1 and a half minutes early instead of 3 seconds, I was livid. How does this keep happening. GET IT STRAIGHT AS!!!!! Nora
