Simple question about snipes.

I'm watching an item on eBay that I really want and someone told me about this Snipe service.
It looks really good but I've been wondering something:

Right now I have the highest bid on the product. What I want to know is if I place a snipe but I'm still the highest bidder when it gets close to the end, will the value I pay be MORE than my max bid on eBay?

If this was confusing, I'll try to explain it more clearly (fake values):
The current bid is 10$
I have a max bid (on eBay) of 15$
I place a snipe of 30$ (just to be safe)
Now suppose no one bids on the item, will I pay 10$ or will I pay more than the 15$ (which is my max)?
