I won an auction, which said it would be shipped via UPS for $10. When it arrived, it was sent USPS (<2 lbs, plain 8.5x11" envelope, taped up).

I emailed the seller stating part of the reason I bid on this item was because it shipped via UPS and asked for the refund of the cost difference.

His reply was that UPS was not open on Saturday when he shipped it, so no refund will be given.

Thoughts? I know it didn't cost that much to send it via USPS. I had another seller do this to me once before too.

$10 is just over 5 quid which is a pint of Guinness, a packet of Pork Scratchings and a couple of records on the Jukebox here in UK. Probably not worth worrying about unless it was late and/or damaged. The guy took a chance and won - I bet you'd be hollering louder if it was damaged or lost. Me, I'd give him indifferent positive feedback, await his positive response then send a stroppy email insulting his parentage and pointing out the error of his ways. It'll make no difference but you'll feel better (especially after a Guinness or two)!
