Morning all,
This is my first post to this forum.
I recently won an item on Ebay at a very low price, my problem is that the seller refuses to respond to my emails requesting a shipping price so I can complete the transaction.
I suspect that given that the seller is in the USA and the item needs to be shipped to Australia, the final price was only $5 he is not interested in completing the transaction.
Shipping policy stated would ship world wide.
I am not interested in trying to force the transaction ( although I feel there is a moral obligation) my concern is this person may leave negative feedback on my previously unblemished record.
What options do I have or what course of action do I need to take?
Any idea's would help.
Jon. Confused

How long is it since the auction closed? Some people take a while to organise themselves especially if they've sold a lot of stuff recently. The fact that the price was only $5 is unlikely to be a factor, after all you are paying postage etc. so there's no expense on their part - 'cept maybe a trip to the PO.

Check their feedback and see if there's any pattern there, if not you've probably nothing to worry about. It's possible they've been struck down by a virus, either human or cyber.

I'd give them about a fortnight, remaining calm and polite, before mildly suggesting that you may have to refer the matter to eBay if you hear nothing.

If they refuse to contact you then they are unlikely to leave neg feedback anyway.

I have been in this situation after making a substantial payment and wound up with no goods and no money. At least you've lost nothing - so far.

Incidently, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the reply GG,
The auction closed a few days ago, in my limited experience most sellers make contact within a day of the end of the auction.
I have emailed twice, the last with a read receipt that showed it was displayed on the sellers computer within a couple of hours of me sending it, still no reply.
As usual I checked the feedback prior to bidding and it looked fine.
You're right it has not cost me a cent so is no big deal.
As you say if no contact is made then I guess neg feedback is not likely.
Right now I'm happy to leave it on the back burner and see what eventuates.
The only reason I am going down this road is to discover what steps I can take if I win something I really want and a similar thing happens.
Thanks for the welcome.
